Laura started cycling when she joined the Princeton Cycling team in September 2002. She finished 13th overall in women's A in her first collegiate season. She excelled during the summer of 2003, winning the Hopewell Road Race (Cat 4) and the NJ State Criterium Championship (Women's Open), while riding for Somerset Wheelmen. Prior to her cycling career, Laura trained for 3-day eventing (a horse sport), played rugby as an undergraduate at Cornell and ran half- and full-marathons recreationally. Laura is a PhD candidate in the Dept of Sociology at Princeton.
